Wow! February has flown by!
I can’t believe it’s time to write my second monthly review!
February has been a hectic month for me, I’ve become a Code First:Girls Instructor, been part of a large project at work and done a fair bit of travelling! But as stressful as it can get at times, there’s nothing better than being busy!
OK, so I’m not sure if you can class this as travelling – but it did consist of travelling for 130 miles which is a fair distance in my book – but, I’m going to count it anyway.
I went to Go Ape!
For those that aren’t aware, Go Ape is an outdoor adventure which involves going through lots of obstacles in the trees and at the end of each large obstacle is a zip-line.
Each person is attached to a harness, which has two carrabeanas and a pull-y, to help navigate you through the obstacles.
I’ve done Go Ape before at Dalby but it was nearly two years ago, and it was as good, if not better, than I recall.
At Dalby there are seven parts of the Treetop Adventure (which was the course we did), and we completed it in a very quick time of 1 hour 20 minutes!
Not only did I really enjoy it and had a lot of fun going round, we also go some pretty good pictures and boomerangs! 21st Century, what can I say? 😉😂
I travelled to Edinburgh with work, so during the evening I got chance to explore the surroundings.
I’d always been told that it was a beautiful city, but words honestly don’t do it justice!
We did a lot of exploring…
Victoria Street which J.K.Rowling based Diagon Alley on!
Grass Market where on a weekend this is packed with stalls!
We also went to a lovely restaurant while we were there – if you ever want a nice steak definitely check out the Mussel and Steak Bar!
I also went back to Bridlington this month, but this time to watch a skydive!
It was the craziest thing to watch, but everyone was so psyched for it!
I also got to roam along the cliff tops again which I loved!
The seaside still excites me and seeing the sea still brings over the serenity I’ve talked about before!
Code First: Girls
I don’t want to say too much as I want to dedicate a whole blog post to this, but I just wanted to put this note in here…
The girls’ enthusiasm blew me away.
I knew they had all chosen to be there, so they wanted to learn, but their attitudes to what we were teaching them was immense.
They are all so keen to learn, and find out more and none of them are afraid to ask for help.
However, help doesn’t just mean the instructors – it means helping their peers!
After the first session had ended they were all so pumped and couldn’t wait for the following week, that I used that energy they had rubbed off onto me and rebuilt my own website.
The rewrite I have done is only temporary and will only be there for as long as it takes me to make the real thing, but for now, thanks to the girls on the course, I have a website sat under my own domain.
I’d just like to say thank you girls! ❤️
Fitness and Health
So this month I have very much slipped on the fitness and health front. Some of it was out of my control, but equally, some of could have been avoided.
A quick overview of how the month has gone:
- My Gymshark addiction is going strong (someone help me!)
- Meditation has slipped
- Slow progress of the Grace Fit Guide
- Eczema clearing up – WOOOOO!!!! 🎉
A lot to take in right?
So a bit of explaining is needed.
In regards to Gymshark, I finally had money for the Energy Seamless collection so I treated myself.
Then a few days later, the Ombrè Seamless collection was launched. So I ended up with four new sets of gym clothes after having no intention of buying any after payday. But they are so beautiful they are worth it! 😍
The good thing to come off the back of all this new activewear is that I’m making more of an effort to get to the gym!
I go to the gym on my lunch hour, but my actual attendance is dependant on when meetings are scheduled, what my workload is like and if I have any annual leave that week.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this blog post, this month has been busy for me in terms of work. So I’ve put my project work at the forefront of my mind, and as there is no pressure for me to complete the Grace Fit Guide in a certain time limit, I’m cool with that, and that I don’t have to overexert myself just for the sake of completing a week in a working week. If it takes longer, again that’s fine!
My health and wellbeing is more important that running myself down at the gym just so I can say I completed something quickly!
Despite all of this my meditation has slipped out of existence. This is because I’ve become a lot more busier, (probably the most I’ve ever been!) and so to help combat this I’m trying to grab as much sleep as I can.
Currently I’d rather sleep for 15 minutes longer than meditate, and I need to get out of this habit and get back into my self-care routine!
February has been a month full of new opportunities and good news, so I’m currently riding on the momentum caused by that to help smash through March!
