June Review

How are we halfway through the year already?!
Not that I’m particularly complaining as I go on holiday next month so this blog post means it’s so close sunbathing on the beach! 🌞🌴

Compared to last month, June has been felt a lot more chilled out! I’ve still done a lot of travelling but I’ve had quite a few days off work this month, so it seems to have passed at a nice pace! 😎

🌍 Places I’ve been this month include:

  • Bridlington
  • Manchester (twice!)
  • Liverpool
  • London

🎀 Concerts attended:

  • Reputation Tour – Taylor Swift
  • Tell Me You Love Me Tour – Demi Lovato

🌟 Main highlights this month:

  • The Deep
  • Taylor Swift
  • World Triathlon Series
  • Coffee with Lucy
  • Lots of weekend trips with friends

πŸ‘πŸ»Β Thing’s I’ve learnt:

  • Being busy every weekend is great, but tiring.
  • Don’t worry about what others think.
  • It’s important to live your best life.

The Deep 🐠

I visit the seaside a lot now (if you hadn’t guessed from my previous blog posts!) but one thing I’ve never seen there is fish! Also mermaids but Tom still has to prove they don’t exist! πŸ˜‰
So to rectify the lack of fish we visited The Deep where I got to see tonnes of fish!!!! I think my favourites had to be the slimy worms, turtles and the twilight zone creatures.

It was so cool to see, especially by someone who doesn’t live by the seaside as I don’t get to see these fascinating creatures often, so it was great to see them in a place like The Deep that helps marine life conservation.

Taylor Swift’s Reputation Tour 🎢

I’ve always been a fan of Taylor Swift, and was so excited in December when my friend Heather had managed to bag two tickets to her Manchester concert.
As we weren’t sure what time it would end we booked a hotel (I totally recommend Holiday InnΒ Manchester City Centre, it’s beautiful) and that weekend it has to be one of my favourite memories this month.

The concert itself was amazing. It was a performance as well as a concert and Taylor never took a break in the whole two hours the show ran.
The layout, set up and props were incredible, not to mention her gorgeous outfits! The long sleeve bodysuit had to be my favourite! 😍
I don’t want to say too much in case any of you reading this are going to the Reputation Tour, but I promise you it’s incredible!

Staying in Manchester was also a huge bonus as we didn’t have to worry about getting the car out of a car park or the drive home, it made the whole experience a lot more relaxed!

World Triathlon Series Leeds πŸŠπŸ»πŸš΄πŸ»πŸƒπŸ»

The day after I returned from seeing Taylor Swift it was the World Triathlon Series in Leeds which Tom was competing in.
I was insanely proud of him while watching him compete. I’ve never seen Tom compete before and it totally blew me away by how good at his sports he is.
He was 3rd out of the water in the swim, and came 5th overall in his age category! Not only that but he was competing at championship level!
I can’t wait to see where this sport takes him! ❀️

Lunch with Lucy β˜•οΈ

I was lucky enough to meet Lucy at the January Ladies of Code Leeds meet up (I did a talk at this, you can read about it here) and I was thrilled to meet her at the end, especially as I’d been reading her blog for so long!

Since then we’ve met up to go for coffee and walks regularly and I love these meet ups so much, as it’s lovely to know someone who has similar interests to you and you can both talk for hours about anything and everything!
It’s also great as we are both so removed from each others lives it feels like we can talk about anything!

On this occasion we went for lunch and went for a local country walk which ended at an ice cream parlour – which was perfect after feeling warm from walking uphill!
It’s always great meeting up with Lucy, and I’m looking forward to the next one.
